Sorry, kind of have been knocked out of the box the last few days. I suppose all three of you are sick of coming here, and seeing the "c-bomb" in bold print.

I hate to say it, but nothing has happened to suggest to me that the Cubs didn't peak last Thursday, when they were 1 1/2 games out. You can't count on the offense to score enough to keep you in ANY game, even if you only give up three or so like Kerry did the other night.

Today's Trib had articles that suggested that the "latest slump" is due to the lack of Grud.

Um...if Grud is the answer, then the question cannot possibly be "What is the one thing we need to push us over the top for the NL pennant?"

Or maybe Grud is a question, like in Jeapordy, and the question is "He's a mediocre MLB 2nd baseman who is cute in an ethnic sort of way". I only got that from the girls at work.
